White belt (coat) ceremony

Friday was a big day. I gave Dallin his doctoral authority, symbolized by the oh-so-snazzy white coat I put on him. Afton could have helped, but she was busy chewing on something.

We're not the type to get too excited about ceremonies--we didn't even attend commencement or convocation when we finished at BYU--but it was kind of nice to celebrate Dallin's entrance into the world of medicine and hear him take the Hippocratic oath. The one that the school used was significantly different from the original, but maintained the tenets of being honorable, compassionate, and doing no harm.

If Dallin were into Karate, he could have a white belt AND a white coat. Check it yo. But just a white coat is still pretty cool. Way to go Dallin! Only 3 more years until you're actually a doctor.
